Welcome!
As principal of North Park Elementary School, I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your children through the 2011-12 school year. North Park School, a recently named California Distinguished School, is committed to the philosophy that learning is a celebration for the students, parents, and staff. North Park's success is directly related to the partnership it has with the parents and community. The staff and I encourage you to become an active participant in your child's education. We are committed to working with you as part of our "Learning Team" to provide your children an optimal educational environment.
At North Park School, our goal is to provide a nurturing, well-rounded education that meets the academic, social, and physical needs of our students. As educators, we constantly strive for excellence. We are committed to providing our students with a challenging academic program aligned to the California State Standards that enables all students to achieve to their fullest potential. We also encourage our students to learn and follow the Six Pillars of Good Character (Caring, Citizenship, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility and Trustworthiness). We are confident that they will gain the skills, attitudes, and understanding necessary to be successful 21st Century citizens.
I would like to encourage you to be involved and a part of your child’s educational career by volunteering in the classroom and participating in special events held by the school and our incredible PTA. Our PTA, who was recently recognized as the #1 PTA in California, works very hard for all of our students. The funds raised through PTA help fund special programs and events at North Park such as field trips, school wide assemblies, after school enrichment classes, art and music programs, Jr. Achievement, the Reflections program and SmartBoards in our classrooms.
Please remember that our door is always open to share your ideas, concerns or comments. Working together, we will make this school year a memorable and rewarding experience for your child.
Sincerely,
Pete Bland, Principal
